the purpose of conducting traffic stops?
* To stop an ongoing
violation
* To deter other drivers
from violating the law

How do
I report a crime to the New Melle Police Department?
Crimes may be reported over
the phone by calling the Police Department office at 636-398-5500, dispatch
at 636-327-5105, by completing a
voluntary statement,
by contacting an officer in person, or in case of an emergency
CALL 911.
How do
I obtain a copy of a police report or a records check?
Police reports may be
requested by writing to the Police Department and including the date(s),
persons involved, or the report number. The cost for a police report is $15.
Information pertaining to cases under investigation will not be released.
How do
I reclaim or check on property that has been confiscated by the NMPD?
Property that is legal to
own that has been confiscated by the NMPD may be released to the rightful
owner as long as the property is not needed for evidential purposes.
You will need to provide proof of ownership when attempting to claim
confiscated property.
How do
I learn about NMPD policies and procedures?
Policies and procedures may
be released by writing to the NMPD and requesting specific directives.
How do
I obtain a permit to purchase a firearm or a concealed carry permit?
Firearm purchase permits
and concealed carry permits are issued by the Sheriff's Department of the
county in which you reside.
How do
I get a job with the NMPD?
The New Melle Police
Department takes applications for Reserve Police officers on an ongoing
basis. Applications may be picked up by appointment and in person.

How do
I get involved with a neighborhood watch program?
The NMPD does not currently
have a neighborhood watch program. If you are interested in starting or
being involved with a program, please contact our office.
Does
the NMPD have a D.A.R.E. program?
Yes, the NMPD does have a D.A.R.E.
program in cooperation with Daniel Boone Elementary School. Garrett Nixon is our new
dare officer there. If you have any questions about the D.A.R.E.
program, please contact
Officer Nixon or check out
www.dare.com.
Does
the NMPD have an Explorers Post?
We do not currently sponsor
an Explorers Post. If you would be interested in starting one, please
contact our office.
